How to overcome and the causes of ignition distributors in cars that often occur
Teknoto.Net - In old model cars that still use a platinum ignition system, the ignition timing and ignition (Ignition Timing) to the combustion chamber are carried out by a section called the Distributor or also known as the Delco.
The working system is that Delco divides and regulates the ignition from the coil to be sent to the spark plugs in each cylinder with the help of platinum, condensers, and rotors in the Delco body.
The rotor is responsible for dividing the electric current into the spark plugs of each cylinder according to the order of combustion, i.e. 1-3-4-2 (order per cylinder) if the car engine uses 4 cylinders and so on so that the ignition key cannot be sequenced 1-2-3 -4.
Delco Damage Sign.
The initial symptom is an abnormality in the Delco and the inside causing the engine to stutter due to incomplete ignition or ignition that is practically paralyzed and when forced on the road, the ends of the car will break down.
When it comes to damage to the Delco, it extends to the subject of a malfunction in the ignition system of a conventional-engined car. Symptoms of a wobbly engine are most often caused by damage to the platinum part due to burns and the condenser is so weak that it can't store electricity to the platinum or the Delco cap and rotor are broken so that electric current is not transmitted to the spark plug.
Other causes can also be caused by damaged coils or spark plugs and wires, but if the damage is only to the spark plugs or spark plug wires, the engine just 'cracks', doesn't break down immediately and if the coil or platinum is damaged, chances are the car could die suddenly or break down.
To avoid ignition problems in cars that are still running on platinum, it is recommended every 10,000 to 15,000 Km or every time you tune.
Platinum and condensers must be replaced including the spark plugs too, don't forget, so don't wait until the damaged part causes an attack.
As for the Delco cover (Delco) it would be better to replace it after using up to 50,000 Km to avoid leakage of electric current for ignition.
May be useful.
